Last day in January 2009

This is my first post for 2009 and I just want to thank you for your interest. There seem to be a lot of blogs out there with a total lack of interest. That is why I do not post more often.

Just adding another post to my blog. Why do you want to post another blog? Well because I can. It makes me fell powerful that I can type words that can be read and forwarded and ignored mostly. I can also delete, I can write it in another language with the help of an on line translator. Is this good, well I seem to think so. Have you noticed how far I have typed and not said anything of importance. No worldly matters or concerns. Just type type type with ambling wayward flow. Well I could not think of anything to say so this is the result.

You all have a good day.

Cameras I use

Kodak EasyShare CX7430
Simple camera, up to 3 maga pixels, records video in Quicktime, mov format. Ideal for quick shoot and upload to websites, uses secure digital memory card.

Sanyo Xacti C40

Sanyo Xacti C40 :
Ultra-compact design (69x108x34 mm) and lightweight 152 g body allow for a range of shooting possibilities.
The Xacti C40 comes with a 1/2.7", 4.0-megapixel CCD. Employing 4 Megapixel mixture technology, it ensures movies with fourfold sensitivity and low noise. It also enables shooting of VGA-size video clips, as well as high-resolution 4.0 Megapixel still images. The high-quality MPEG-4 recording format is used to record VGA-size video clips at 30 fps.
Can be played back clearly, even on a large-screen TV. Uses SD card technology.
Uses a highly efficient, bright 5.8x optical zoom lens (brightness of f/3.5). Together with the 10x digital zoom, the Sanyo C40 camera provides up to 60x zoom capability, for an enhanced range of shooting.
In the play back mode, you can zoom into pictures, and take a picture of zoom, which will store another copy of the zoomed in picture.
Sanyo Xacti C40 features
  • 60 fps Playback via TV output
  • Red-Eye correction
  • Trans-Reflective Amorphous Polysilicon TFT 1.8-Inch LCD monitor

  • Playback, max 51x (8M Mode)

  • Total of 16.8 hours recording time
  • Exif Print, PRINT Image Matching III
  • PictBridge-Compatible for PC-Free printing

Sony Handycam DCR-SR62

Sony Handycam DCR-SR62. None of us likes to switch tapes in the middle of a shoot, or waste time rewinding and capturing. That's why the DCR-SR62 Handycam camcorder contains a 30GB built-in hard disk drive (HDD) storage and allows you to capture up to 20 hours of recording time (LP) so you don't need to mess around with tapes. A brilliant 2.5" Touch Panel LCD display keeps the controls at your fingertips while a 40x optical/2000x digital zoom makes sure you catch all the detail.

Strengths: The on screen menu is very user friendly. The night shot IR lamp seems to do a good job. Video quality is good in HQ mode. Movies stored in mpg hence easily recognized by Movie editing softwares. Image stabalization can be turned off when working with a tripod, and is recomended by myself. One touch burn to DVD, all or nothing.

Weaknesses: No USB port on camcorder. The bundled software does not work with Vista. Needs to download a patch. Bundled battery life is just 1.5hrs thus forcing you to buy another expensive battery. Will not give you pleasureable results in low light conditions. Focus hunting issues when you zoom to the max. I heard you need the 3 piece lens filters to really really improve the quality of footage. No wind filter. Video editing program that comes with the camera is useless, you can only divide and delete.

Sony net sharing cam

I recently purchased a Sony net sharing cam GC1 for $300 canadian, but now retails for $150. The cameras functionality is great and does everything it is supposed to do.

  1. 5 mega pixel camera with various flash exposures. Video camera with 3 levels of detail, highest is 620 x 480 30 frames per second.

  2. Web camera suitable for stickam, skype and other sites.

  3. The camera is pre-loaded with Sony's PMB Portable software for direct upload to Youtube, Crackle, Photobucket and other picture and video sharing sites.

This video was the mp4 unedited from the camera.
I think it was the 320x240 and 15fps and black and white.

  • Disadvantage; only records in MP4 format, but I just discovered that the software, PMB will convert the mp4 to a wmv, but you have to save the file to a new folder, because your computer deletes the file once you disconnect the camera. Once you have the wmv file you can edit it with windows movie maker or sony vegas.

  • Advantage; The memory stick can be removed and plugged into your usb port on your computer through an adapter. On the lowest setting of 320 x 240 and 15fps you can record 12 hours of video.
